Oprah Winfrey ended her 25-year talk show to focus on her OWN cable network. Speculators say that if her hosting stint in the Oscars will push through a separate deal to air behind the scenes of the Oscars can be aired on OWN. The Academy Awards is currently under contract with ABC and with Winfrey's good relationship with the network, they might settle an agreement.
Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) debuted on January 1, 2011 with an average viewership of 505,000 viewers. The following month, they only average 135,000 viewers. With the possible deal from the Oscars, it might attract new viewers to the ailing network.
With Oprah hosting the Oscars, her loyal followers are for sure to be watching the Oscars next year.
